Hi Guys. It's been a few years that I've stuck with my 1.6GHz P4 processor, 40GB IDE HDD, CD-RW Drive, 200W PSU, and no video card. I've decided to gather all my moneys and build a better PC. Here's my setup.


Pentium 4 2.8GHz processor w/ Asus mobo................$155

1GB DDR400 PC3200 RAM..................................$55

80GB 7200RPM SATA HDD..................................$42

Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256MB Video Card................$45

Aspire 500W PSU........................................$40

NEC 16x DL DVD-/+RW Drive..............................$35

56k Modem..............................................Getting out of old computer

Total:.................................................$372

I already have the case and the video card and PSU I'm buying from off the forum used. Waddya guys think?
 
Might be an idea to upgrade the PSU, $40 seems a bit cheap for a 500w, and cheap PSU's ain't usually to good.

mine costed a little under $40. Works excellent.
 
If you aren't going to be using it for gaming, you might want to get a bigger hard drive and less RAM. Only if you need more then 80gigs though.
