My Next Computer

Hey forum, I am looking to replace my aging rig with a new computer. I currently have several parts in mind that I aim to build my new rig with. I was hoping to have you guys let me know what you think of it and give some potential possible changes. Here we go:

CPU: Intel i7-930 (Quad-Core 2.8GHz, Dual ready) --> Later x2
MB: EVGA x58 SLI/Crossfire ready board (1366-Socket, Hyperthreading, etc.)
GPU: Nvidia GTX-260 (SLI ready) --> Later x2
RAM: 4GB --> Later 8GB+
HD: 500GB 7k200rpm
(600w PSU, 7.1 Sound Card, DVD drive, etc.)
It's around $1000 now, ~$1500 later.

So what do you think guys? I don't have the money for the final build so that's what the "Later" is for ^_^

instead of getting a 260 and later another one, get a single 5850 and consider it done.

thats one test dude and that one particularly is reliant on bus size hence my 4890 blowing many other cards out of the water because it uses a 256 bit bus. the 5770 uses a 128 bit bus. Frankly the 4890 is better than the 5770 and 260 but it doesnt have full dx11 support. The 5770 beats the 260, trust me, but maybe not as much as you want it to. For that you would want the 5830.
 
Overall the GTX 260 and 4870 is a little faster then a 5770. The 5770 does really well in some games, even beats the other two. But in some it just has a aneurysm and poops its pants. The memory bandwidth sucks, its only 128bit.

Hows that, the 4870 has 256 bit memory and has a larger GPU and cost the same when the 5770 came out. They just dried up the supply of the 4870 and 4890 to drive there price up just to sell the 5770 and 5830 and get the money they wanted out of them.

ahh thats a good point but at the same time, the 4870 doesnt have dx11 or eyefinity. thats mainly the impetus behind the prices of the 5xxx series
 
I think I'm swaying towards the 5830 now since it's only $30 more, but I'm having trouble finding a motherboard for it.
