i finally got the hang of it, finally! i have got it stable at 2.82Ghz, is this a reasonable score? Is there anyway i go go higher without it crashing?
For a beginning overclock thats pretty decent. Make sure that you have like your HTT multiplier and stuff set to the correct setting so your bus speed is under 1000, tweak with your vcore (if you want to) and mem dividers and such.
is it a 3800+ Venice core CPU or so? I mean, the 3800+ X2 runs much slower ( sorry if thats a stupid question )
anyhow, i make 2.7GHz on my 3000+,.. after that, it went unstable,.. so its a pretty nice overclock you have ( but i think you can get it a little further )
but keep also in mind that the core has its limits.. For example, a 3000+ Venice (if you're lucky on getting a 'good'oc core )can be overclocked a lot more than a 4000+venice. because at a certain point, the heat is the limit, or it'll simply start running unstable.
i can push it furhter but its the ram, i cant get the hang of overclocking it. if i up the FSB anymore it starts to crash. can someone help me out? the type of ram is in my sig.
I personally wouldn't recommend upping the vcore, especially if you're new to OC'ing. Voltages can do crazy things to electrical components, especially processors. Not to mention that extra voltages will decrease the life of your processor.
