my p3

is there a software i can download that could oc my p3 to 1g from 550 MH/z
if so can u post it i wan to oc my cpu but im not shure how i would di it fisically

he wants to know the specs of your system that the cpu is in, and he said "but" because you had no specs posted and he went ahead and posted the links

k this is all i know about this peace of crap its a p3 501mhz and it has 512 mgb of ram as mentioned above thaqt is all i know i have no idea of what the front side bus is on this thing anyway im running the sterss test on it now from sys tool

go to www.cpuid.com and download CPU-Z and see what it says
 
k the front syde bus is at 100.2 and teh bus speed are at 100.2 i have 16 kb of l1 cash and 512 kb of l2 cache the multiplier says its si at x5.0

I draw your attention to two things you should read, Overclocking 101 and Questions 101.

They will tell you that

  1. Knowing the specs (including make if applicable) of your pc is nessecary for a proper answer to the question, since some makes of pc can't be overclocked for various reasons.
  2. Nobody can say how much a system will be able to be overclocked by. However looking for a 2 fold increase is asking too much.

I agree. If you can OC it, i can only guess you will get it to 800MHZ. Do you have the stock cooler btw?
 
but if i toast it i will get a new one anyway im buying one i need my dad to help pay for it tho he said he would depending on my report card but if this one dye we wil lge ta new one
