My Pc is slowing down

u no the feeling ... it happens to all of us somewhere down the road
MY PC IS 6 months old and has now grown slow
i just want to ask why
i was told eventually it happens to every pc because of backed up registry keys etc.... cna some one explain why this is happening and what should I do?
 
a good fix would be either a faster hard drive or a reformat. generally the hard drive is the most noticeable thing when somethings slow. applications take longer to load.
if you have the means to back up any files and everything and reformat thats always a good fix, i do it every 3 months or so.
two sata 7200rpm drives in raid should make a jumbled system drive seem to be speedier and therefore it wouldnt seem as slow even after it slows down a bit.
 
yes, as Holyjunk said, run some virus scanners, spyware scanner, i'd recommend scanning with Panda ActiveSCan or Kasperky, just Google/Yahoo them.
 
Thanks but how do i reformat? and what is google ccleaner?

i have spybot and adaware- why didnt anyone metion those as a good program?
 
Yeah, I have CCleaner and I got rid of 1GB of crap that I didn't need the first time I used it, its an awesome program!
 
If you going to upgrade to new harddrive next time look for the 15k RPM or 10k rpms They will last long with the speed!!
