My pc not connecting to the internet

As the titles says my pc wont connect to the internet. I have cable connection and the modem connects to my computer via ethernet cable. however i can use my laptop to connect to my modems wifi and the internet works fine.

The motherboard im using is the GA x58a-ud3r. Im assuming the problems may lie within the motherboard, and if any of you guys have a suggestion of wot to do?

Probably nothing to do with your motherboard. Is the PC connected to the modem or the wireless router? Is the modem a modem or wired router? Who set up the system as it is?

Have you installed the lan driver?

sorry guys i forgot about this post. Turns out there was some problem with the router.Ive got everything sorted out now. thanks for the replies neways
