My PC RAM shows only 490 MB !!!

Recently I purchased the home PC with 512 MB RAM. But when I checked the configurations in the System parameters of Windows, it shows me that only 490 MB is installed.

When I asked the shop guy, he infomed me that the remaining memory is 22 MB is available in the form of Video share.

Is it correct or am I missing something ?

If you are using onboard video then i would say it is correct.
 
If you have an integrated gfx card it will eat in to your RAM...basically what 4W4K3 said:)
