My Pc Wont Turn On!

My Medion desktop loads past the Xp loading screen then just goes black permanently, but the computer is still running the screens still active and safemode works perfectly whats happening?:( Also i'll be formating the pc tommorow if i dont get any other ideas quickly.

what was the last thing you did on the computer?

other then that, run simple things in safe mode like a new antivirus, (i suggest avast! free home edition) then you could try ccleaner registry fixer.

try those and come back, i'll probably think of a few more things later.
 
yeah CCleaner has solved MANY problems on my PC's.. Don't re-format just yet, I'm sure it's something simple that one of can help you with..
 
you could also reset your cmos jumper..take out the battery for a sec or two... have you overclocked or messed with the bios at all?
 
I've just run CA antivirus, Spybot, Addaware and Ccleaner still nothing. Also thought id just mention this used to happen ocassionly but just rebooting it worked. Ive never touched bios either.
 
Ubuntu

I decided not to format instead i installed Ubuntu as a dual boot it works perfectly but still no luck with windows please help I've tried everything i could think of. Also Ive had it looked at by a computer nerd and he said he thinks it might be the graphics card or processor but i no hes wrong. Oh and it has worked a couple of times but on a very rare occasions.:(
