Reminds me of the USB version of Firefox from what you're describing. And trust me, there are potential buyers for this sort of software so don't stop trying. You know that I would love to just sit my brother down in front of the computer and walk away feeling very happy about what he might mess with. I mean, if you had netnanny or whatever filtering service you'd have a childproof computer. I didn't get to download it last night, but now that you've updated the security on it, I'll give it a shot.

It's not an operating system, stop calling it like that. Call it a GUI (graphical user interface) for Windows, but not an operating system.
An operating system is much more difficult to make than that, you don't have any libraries, APIs, any include file, so you must make everything yourself. Making an operating system is as hard as programming gets.
I attempted to create one and I got a bootable floppy showing 'Hello World' and doing showing some crazy text when you press a key. I had to do it in Assembly, haven't managed yet to make anything bootable in C++, but I'm trying.

Anyway, about this GUI of yours, it looks cool, the problem is that fade effect when you launch a program, it's annoying and slow. I like it fast (that's why I use windows classic theme), so it's not for me. But it looks cool, good luck with finishing it.

Yes UPDATE!

I have made it so the kid cant move the window around and use the desktop by locking the screen to the program! it will set your resolution to the program size then run full screen and will have kept aspect ratio so this is the result!

it looks just like it does in the window but the desktop under it is all black!

And when you exit it will be back to normal!

Is this good? It makes it look like its the computer its self to!

EDIT:

I have made the file size of the program from 8MB to 3MB! It will now play a chime when there is no sound file not the Default sound!

Also making it load 2X faster!
