Anything that could be less expensive? Trying to get it under the 1k mark. The video card was selected randomly, I do not know much about them these days.

well first off. where are you buying the parts from?
if in the USA you can get them from newegg for some good prices.

everything looks good.

quick question: are you going to try to have a second graphics card in the future? if you are your going to need to get an ATI graphics since that motherboard will support only crossfire configuration.

I live in Canada, and the dollar is shit right now so I will probably get them at cost from a friends dad who runs a shop.

Will this setup work if for example I only get one video card now, and then update in the future? And for crossfire, do both cards have to be the same?

I don't need the biggest and best system, just something that will run Valve games like Left 4 Dead and such. Also, the case is a bit much with the lighting and stuff, I just want a basic case that everything will fit in nicely and provide good airflow.

yes first check newegg. if not cheaper or if your friends dad will give you a special deal then go for that.

the build you have now should be fine. and yes for crossfire or for sli the cards have to be identical. if the lights are too much you dont have to connect them. but the antec 900 is a really good case with really good airflow.

also i just looked at the motherboard and it only has one PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot. if your going to want a second card in the future. you should get a motherboard with 2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots.

this one doesnt look to shabby:

Hmm, how much better is it running two cards as opposed to 1?? Price wise that board you posted is cheaper so it might be a viable option. Also, I was wondering about RAM. 64 bit Vista can run over 4 gigs, while 32 bit is limited to 4 gigs, is that correct?

well if you apply simple logic 2 cards that are the same against one card should be twice as good. but if you want exact results check out some reviews.

and you are correct about the ram.
