My potential gaming computer

So I am now going to build my first computer
and it's going to be one focused on gaming performance.
I have searched the interwebs for parts I belive would fit my
need as I do not have a real budget
but don't want to put to much money on it either.

This is what I got: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4cG2bv

I would really much like to know if this would work to be a
good gaming computer, if you can have the same performance for
a cheaper price or increase it for a lower price,
if there is any big misstakes I am making,
if there is anything I need to add etc.
I have in my current computer right now 2*4 gb ddr3 ram which I thought
I would transfer to the new setup as well as I am going to the transfer
the old dvd writer to the new setup as well.

Thanks in advance :3

Not bad but a few things could be edited:

-I'd wait for the i5-4690k: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9117372&cm_re=i5_4690k-_-19-117-372-_-Product

-Spend a bit less on the HDD, PSU, and get a mid-tower to put money towards an SSD

-HDD: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex

-PSU: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx600m

-Case: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-caph410r1

-SSD: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7te120bw

-And if red is your forte I think this motherboard for just a bit more better suits you: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97gaming5

Wow, thanks very much for a fast reply and I will probably go with all the suggestions that you’ve made. Although I wonder if stepping down from a full tower case to a medium one decreases my upgradeability in the future or will I still be able to upgrade my system just fine?

In terms of upgrade-ability the only big advantage a full tower would have is that it is more meant for 3-4 way crossfire/SLI.
