my pressy's getting pretty hot here

i might need to rub it off with alcohol and redo the artic silver 5, i was reusing the paste from the last mobo upgrade :D

ive tried reseating the heatsink and readding the paste, no difference, is there any harm in me leavin the temps how they are ie: idle 44-50c and full load upto 70c, ive opened up this computer so many times i dunno if i can be assed doing it again. if someone could tell me for sure that the 120mm over the 90mm would make a difference id probably try it, but for me to go to all that trouble of changing heatsink/fan and it not make any diffrence would kinda irritate me (nice use of words) lol, cheers

Ok that system is running a crapload hotter than it should be (which should be obvious to you by now) but to deal with your issues:
1. Its a 92mm fan, not 90mm (yes there are 90mm fans on the market too just to make things confusing)

2. Since you've not noted the model of your cooler im going to assume you mean the Zalman 7000cu.

3. Needless to say, I assume you're not running the fans in ultra-silent mode

4. Assuming the Zalman 7700cu fits on your system, it will be a better cooler but you can certainly do better (i.e., Thermalright XP90c)

1. Its not a fan, just the heatsink.
2. Its compatible with LGA775 and should specifically be ok for your board although its been a few weeks since ive dealt with the LGA775 boards so i dont know for sure
3. Its heavy but not that heavy

my rooms is an oven. we have A/C but it is in the living room. and i dont think i'm allowed to install an a/c in the bedroom since i think is against their rules. it can get real warm.
