My Q6600 Overclock post!

okay i took off the AS5,gave my cpu and Heatsink a realy good clean with AKASA TIM Clean and we have better results.

temps with AS5 IDLE @ 1.6Ghz

much happier with those temps,this time though i didnt just put a line on the processor,i actualy spread it out .

Theres a little scratch i think you can see from the pic on my heatsink base,its not that bad but i wonder if its not helping it been there?

yeah temps are alot better,wish i had used the MX-2 in the first place and spread it instead of the AS5.

how are temps on those Phenoms anyway StrangleHold? do they run cool?
 
I have TX-2 on it. Just installed it on Wednesday. Got it up to 2.8 the first day on stock voltage, bumped it to 2.9 today, still stock voltage 1.25V. Going to let it run all day at 2.9 and try for 3.0 tomorrow. Really it runs pretty cool, 30/32c idle so far, not over 40c under load. But I do keep it pretty cool in the computer room.

heard good things about the TX-2.

anyway i overclocked to 3.2Ghz,seems to be stable with these settings

357 x 9 = 3213.9Mhz

Cpu - 1.3625v
Mem - 2.1v
Northbridge - 1.375

ive stopped at 3.2,i think if i overclock more my temps will go too high.

it stays just arround 57c-58c under full load with prime95.
