i just got a norwood micro radeon 9250, but the driver isnt installing proplerly

i went to the ati driver website, and i downloaded a driver for windows media cente, and the only noticible thng that that did was add a desktop ati catalyst icon an add an ati symbol by the clock.......

i also tried to connect my monitor to the card, and not the original VGA outlet that came with my computer, but the screen would not work..

hmm.. were u installing the driver with ur original video card output instead of the ATI ? thats what it sounds like..

ok so was this what happened...

u took off the case
put the radeon 9250 in the pci slot
plug the monitor cable into the radeon n then started up windows.. n installed the driver

OR

was ur monitor cable originally on the onboard video card when you were installing the driver [sorry, that was what it sounded like]

well, personally.. i had my share of installation problems with radeon softwares.. but it works.. usually a nitch n error here n there.. i also have a 9250.. had problems.. but after installation, it detected the adapter n everything worked

it was number 2....

i dont think tht i did detect it as my driver, but i got my DVI to work plugged into the card a few minutes ago, but no icons or deskbar showed up...

o0o0o number 2?

well thats ur problem right there then.. uninstall the software.. and restart and make sure everything works.. then do steps number 1.. then install the drriver.. THEN it should detect ur driver n everything should work

well i just got it now, im using a dvi connction through the vidoe card.....i disactivated the intel epress chipset thing

now the real test...if bf 2 works

ok, battlefield 2 played for the first time ever!!!!

i changed my moniter form 1240x1080 (or something like that) to 800x600

when i try to play battlefield 2 i get to the part after the opennig movie, and i try to join mulitplayer, but it like all freezes up and then and error thing comes up that tells me to send the error report...

EA also mention that the new 5.8 Catalysts are highly recommended for BF2 players with ATI graphics cards as they resolve several issues
The ATi Catalyst 5.5 drivers are known to be somewhat incompatible with Battlefield 2, the 5.6 drivers may be the same. If you experience issues with either of these driver revisions we recommend rolling back to the 5.1 drivers

Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards:
Radeon X700 (PCIe)
Radeon X600 (PCIe)
GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
ATI Radeon X800 PRO
ATI Radeon 9800 Series
ATI Radeon 9600 Series
ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
ATI Radeon 8500 Series
ATI Radeon X300 Series
NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
NVidia GeForce 6800
NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series
I dont have a boxed version of BF2 ... didnt it say the requirements on the box?

it just said ati radeon 8500 or higher.....and 9250 is higher in numbers.....lol i screwed up

well time to go bak to comp usa
gotta shut down to take out the card
