my screen keeps flickering ????

hi guys just got this screen the other day of a mate for nothing but its much better than my old one its the LG FLATRON SLIM but after 5 mins of it being on it starts to flicker not hurrendously but every 5 seconds or so it will go dim the bright again really quickly ;/

the power cable is the genuine power supply anyone got any ideas

Try a different VGA, DVI or HDMI cable. Try the monitor with another PC to verify that the monitor itself is not the probably. Make sure the monitor is plugged tightly into your computer.
