my vid card is stuffed?

hi,

i play some games, then after 30mins it goes "no video input" then the screen goes into standby. i can still hear the sound. but no video.. i think it might be the fan isnt working?

help please.
 
If the fan was not working...it would shut down in about 30 seconds and not 30 minutes. Have you cleaned the card? Dust can build up inside the card and it will actually act like insulation. It can sky rocket temps very quickly.

A can of compressed air, a paint brush and a tooth pick is all that is needed for a good cleaning. Take the paint brush and brush off the exposed fan really good. Then insert the toothpick to hold the fan (air will spin it much faster than it should...causing damage) then just blow it out really good.

Also check the airflow in your case. Cheap fans can be added for almost nothing and can drop case temps dramatically.
 
try reseating the card. pulling it out of the slot and putting it back in. with the computer off of course! ;)
