My Vista Wont Work At All Now

As some of you probaby know from previous threads i've had lots of problems with my computer this year with infections making it go slow. That's why I joined Computer Forum. Now if you though things couldn't get any worse they have. Something even more searious has happened. It wont work at all. It wont start. If you press the on button nothing happens it's just dead. I have tried another plug in it and the vista computer still wont start. I am now using a old XP computer of my Dad's which I can get on internet with a wireless connecter. He now has the modern one Windows 7. I need advice now so this one doesn't end up with hundreds of infections too. I also need to know if there is a way I can get the vista working again without looseing all the information off the hard drive.

What's the problem with the Vista system, without searching through your previous posts? Perhaps we can condense everything here and try to resolve your issues, so your system works again. Does the system turn on at all? It sounds as though it isn't powering on at all?

Use Lucid Puppy and an external USB device (like a hdd in an enclosure).

Mount the partition(s) where data to be saved reside and move or copy them to the USB device, by-passing the dirty OS altogether. :P

Addendum: physically remove the hard drive in question, install in XP machine, disconnecting the working hdd, allow BIOS to discover the bad hdd (if it won't, hdd is toast), boot to Puppy LiveCD, do the above.

BTW, a reply from the OP would be appreciated.

Well if it just doesn't turn on maybe you can try testing your power supply. A virus cannot stop your computer from turning on, but it can stop it from booting into windows. Your power supply could be dead on your computer. Let us know what happens!
