My Windows Vista Dell Inspiron won't start.

OK here is what's happening. I manually turned my PC off during an update because it was already running slow after I had installed updates, so I thought the updates were the issue. So that's why I turned it off in the middle of it. So, after that it wouldn't start. I used the CD and tried and tried the recovery console. Where it can fix errors automatiy. It said it was fixed. It didn't start. I tried the console again and it said the errors couldn't be fixed automatically. So I went to the command promp and rebuilded the bcd with bootrec. Restarted and that didn't fix it. Then I tried to reset the motherboard. I took the battery out and put it back in. NOW since I did that, when I push the power button it still won't start. And I get 2 beeps after 2 beeps. I'm stumped and have no idea what to do.

One of the worst things you can do is to force to shut down when updating from Microsoft ... Can you get into safe mode ? F8=safe mode.. Try to get into safe mode, then Use system restore, If it is possible..

I can't get into safe mode. I know that now.

if you don't have the recovery disk you may be doomed,
but there is an outstanding Linux to be installed,i also have a laptop with Vista but don't have recovery cds either, but i'm not worried a bit the future for it, is called Linux as soon it gives me crape.

I never install updates only service packs. Updates have caused more problems then they are worth, in my humble opinion. And get this! I have used every form of Windows since Windows 3.1 and NEVER got a virus!

There comes a time when you need service packs otherwise software won't work. For example, a lot of software these days requires at least XP SP3 or Vista SP2, some even require 7 SP1 as a minimum.

I would always advise installing service packs, even if you don't ever install any other kind of updates.
