My Wireless Speed from 2 feet away is Faster than if Connected by Ethernet Cable, huh

Can someone help me on this as I'm totally baffled. I've ran about 25 speed tests from testmy.net and each time my wireless internet speed is significantly faster than if I connect my laptop by ethernet cable to my combo broadband modem/router. The modem/router is only about 2 feet from my laptop.

To me this doesn't make any sense. Does this mean there is something wrong with the modem/router as the results should be reversed. Note when I test connected by cable I turn the built in wireless connection off the laptop. Can someone help me on this as none of this makes sense to me. Thanks

This could be caused by a lot of things, depending on your internet speed and your router type wireless can actually out perform wired. Say you have a 300 megabit wireless router that only has 10/100 megabit wired ports. The wireless could certainly outperform the wired connection if the conditions were right. Your issue could be caused by a number of things though, could be something to do with the configuration of your network hardware or it could be as simple as a poor ethernet cable. More information, router brand and model, ISP and information on your laptop would help.
