mysqli is not available??

What is happening when I get "MySQL adapter mysqli is not available"? I'm trying to log on to a site and I get this error.

It more than likely means that the site has a database problem. Perhaps they are working on it.

Thanks you are probably correct because my wife said she was just on the site the day before. I tried to access the site from another computer as well as my smart phone and could not get in with them either. Well as long as it is not my computer then I guess I'm ok.

Thanks, I just now tried to get on the site and it worked so I guess they fixed the problem.
