I also tried system restore and last known good configuration that worked and still nothing

THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE :(

actually, if someone could tell me where to find the driver in the registry, could I post a pic and have someone tell me what's wrong?

hey all, I just did a HP technician chat (why the hell didn't I think of that before?!? :eek: ) and he sent me the link to a script that fixed it. Thanks to those who bothered helping me though ;)
