Nas for central music server.

Hi folks I need advice.

I currently have a d link cheap nas which has been great for large storage.

I'm looking at having a central nas with music on that we can tap into at home and maybe away from also. It will just have music on and 3 or 4tb will be fine. It doesn't need to be anything special just simple and effective that we can stream music from keeping all music on that drive. We will stream to android phones and an iPad.

What would good for this.

I use Plex as a media server on my WD NAS. Plex has client apps for Windows, Android and iOS.

What budget do you have to work with? Most ones on the market can do what you want, or you could even run an old PC with Linux and achieve the same result.

Prob around £100 to 150 for something around 3tb if poss. Could I get the results I need adding an additional drive to the dlink dns320 just for the music. I've never used it remotely just on the home network but has worked well to be fair. I don't know what connection features the dns320 has to be fair.

If your home router has a VPN function to it you might be able to ride on top of that to access the DNS320.

Apparently there's a plex add-on for the DNS320 so you might just be able to use that without having to buy anything else:
