Need a few new parts, need your help!

Hey guys, well my current pc isnt that old, the graphics card hard drive, powersupply cd drive, and ram are in good condition and practically new.

I want to replace my motherbored and CPU, they are worn out and are starting to make weird noises.

I want to keep my old equipment.

My motherbored is a amd deluxe
my cpu is a amd athlon 2x64 dual core processor 6000+ 3.00ghz

so i would like my other equipment to go with the new ones, i do alot of editing etc so i would need something with some kick!

I have £300 minimum - 400 MAX

any help would be great.
 
Before you start getting new parts for your system how about giving it a good clean out and re-newing the thermal paste on the h/s and cpu,
might give it a new lease of life
 
the motherboard and CPU are making noise? usually, motherboards, and especially CPUs don't just "wear out". unless it's because of ESD or a cracked board, then that's different. And if you do a lot of editing, definitely go for as many cores/threads as you can. I'd suggest a Core i5/mobo-combo. or if you're on a budget, one of the Phenom X4s.
