I want to build a gaming computer for not too much money. I don't know too much about building computers. I play COD4 all half life source games and thay run all right on my current setup. I want to be able to run them all on high settings. Also I need a processor to be able to be overclocked to run rainbow six vegas(I belive it needs 3ghz?) I have a monitor keyboard and mouse and stuff already so all I need is the case and the componets inside. Help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to keep it cheap as posible and upgrade in the future as needed. I guess $500-800 at most for now. If you have to go beyond that a little to get some awesome components you highly recomend let me know also.

i have a very simmiler build you will be able to play any game on high, it is very quick, upgradable, you could get 1 more of them video cards, an i love mine i think this will do u great

If possible I'd change the PSU to a Corsair VX550 (more stable), the CPU to Intel, the motherboard to a P35-chipset board, the HDD to a Seagate 7200.11 and the graphics card to a 9600GT. Oh, and get a Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro if you're not massively overclocking.

Thanks reddevil6 and pablo. I deff want to stick with an intel based system i do know that much.(sorry for wasting your time reddevil6. I very much apreciate your help though.) The rest of your setup looks like what im looking for. Pablo what specific componets do you suggest so I can have an intell setup at 3ghz.

I guess I would like to comment on my last post. I guess I'll leave the AMD and Intel decision more up to you guys. You know what works better. I just hear Intel was the way to go right now.

out of these 2 what one is better
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor Model BX80562Q6600 - Retail
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E6600 - Retail

Sweet I think I will go with that it is only a little bit more. the q6600. Now that I've decided a proccesor, what motherboard do you suggest.

intel build i would say not enough money for quad

that is $812.91 an again very upgradebal solid build an deffently better than the first AMD build.
that CPU should OC a fair bit.

Why do you insist (reddevil6) on going with a fancy case that's actually crap?

Centurion 5 or Elite 330 is much better...

Like Paul has said, if you aren't OC'ing massive amounts, get the Arctic Cooler 7, if you want a little more headroom, check out the Tuniq Tower.

As for cases, the CM 690 is great, so is the Antec 900. ;)

jus get a E6600 and overclock it to 3ghz, easily done and wit included heatsink its stable

yes it is INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6600 with an overclock like i said

First, the E6750 is better and costs $45 less! Second, not always will you get a stable 3.0GHz and far less with the stock cooling. All CPU's are different my friend. ;)
On topic:

The Gigabyte P35-DS3L is supposed to be a very good motherboard.

It is! ;)

I agree with going with Intel. Get the GA-P35-DS3L motherboard for $50 less. Also get the E6750 or the E8400 if you can. Dual core may do a better work now than Quad core if you want a gaming computer. If you have the money though or you really want a Quad core, go for it. The Q6600 is the best choice currently.

:)
