Need a good computer for engineering?

Im going to be attending Purdue University engineering school, and I was looking for a good laptop.
Specs I would like:

i7 2.7+
Any 1gb dedicated graphics card
Prefer 1080p display
6gb+ RAM
500gb+ HDD
The battery life doesn't have to be amazing because it will be plugged in most of the time.
No Macbook Pro's please!

I know this would be an expensive laptop but just suggest anything you can think of.
