Need a new desktop.. Advice pls.

I am new here.. I need a new desktop tower only to go with my 24 inch screen. I had a ACER and sound stop working now the computer freezes. Its for my dad and will onyl be using it for internet browsing and streaming videos, nothing else. I want it to run smoothly and fast. Any advice? I don't want to build as I have no experience. Best buy? Costco? Bj? Comp usa? Thanks

Is the current PC old tech?
Doesn't take much research to see how to build one.
The specs and where to buy you can get here.
For that use, about $650 includes Windows.
A bit more if you need monitor/keyboard/mouse.
You and your dad could build it in and afternoon.
 
Where is here? Please guide me to the right direction. I would like a pretty new/latest computer. my old one was a AMD phenom x4
 
The phenom x4 should be plenty fast for normal office task and web browsing.

By here, he means right on this forum. He is talking of a parts list. Once you tells us the budget and nation you live in we can gather a list that fits into the budget for you. then you buy the parts, and with some guidance from the manuals and the newegg how to video, you assemble the parts.
 
To be honest its the time that i dont have also.. I would prefer one thats already built I can get or order and no time spent on building.. I live in northern fl. budget would prefer under 500 for tower only, but im flexible if its worth it. Thanks
