Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards racing right now. I've heard some good things about GRID...

I can't speak for any racing games since NFS: Shift but if you are into RPGs Dragon Age: Origins will keep you occupied for quote some time.
 
I second grid. Steam had a deal for the code masters racing pack a while back and it was a really good deal. I'm not sure if they still have it going or not.
 
Alright so I'll probably end up getting GRID, but I'm still curious as to what knockout is talking about with NFS Shift.

I mean the last racing game i played was Need for Speed: Shift. Can't recommend GRID one way or the other.
 
GRID is alright as a casual game, same with DiRT 2. Codemasters need to start getting back into the hardcore sims though :(

GRID IS a hardcore sim! The graphics are totally amazing and the controls are sensitive as HELL! One of the best games ever!

P.S. I cheat and disable the AI cars :D
 
^^lol. i enjoyed fuel, but most people dont. its a mostly off road, buggy, dirt bike, 4 wheeler, suv type racing game. it was like $4 on steam(which i cant use right now)
 
Grid is a great game if you haven't got it already I would suggest you get it. I just installed it yesterday and i must say between grid and dirt 2 both will keep you occupied for months.
 
Are you going with a racing game for sure? I never play racing games but if you're looking for something else, Metro 2033 looks pretty cool and original.

Also, even though its a few months off, the new need for speed: hot pursuit looks promising :)

Even though you are looking for a racing game, i would like to recommend a game called 'Just Cause 2', it is a game that is set on a corrupt island, and you go around causing chaos, it is a very fun, open world game.
