I might plan to buy this Radeon HD 3850 512MB AGP 4X/8X I know I need a new PSU but I don't know which is right and better one for Dell Dimension 4600 PC. I would appreciate if you give me a link from newegg site. Thank you.

Here is my girlfriend's specs
Dell Dimension 4600
Windows XP Home Edition (Upgraded Windows Vista Home Premium)
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz
G.Skill 4GB DDR Ram
Western Digital 200GB Hard Drive
ATI Radeon 9800XT 256MB (Dead)
Power Supply 250w ATX

The Sapphire website says your card requires: 450Watt or greater power supply with 30Amps on 12 volt with 2x4 power connector recommanded.

So get a 500W with a 30A@12V cable.

I don't understand how the Amp/Volt cables work, so I really can't make a suggestion. I just suggest look for something with a lot of user comments, that has good feedback. Some 500W power supply have 40% 5 star reviews, another will have 75% 5 star reviews. I prefer to go with the ones that have good reviews by previous customers because then I know what to expect.

Look out for reviews where people complain about Dead-on-Arrival and squealing.

Both look good. The ultra has 3 year warranty, corsair has 5 years. Corsair is guaranteed at least 80% efficient or more, the ultra isn't. If you are selling the PSU in the future, the Corsair will be more recognized, and easier to get some money for it.

If you have the extra cash, I would go with the Corsair.

I would definitely go with Corsair but I would go with their 450VX model. There are tons of amps on the +12V rail, more than enough to power an 3850 and a P4.

Worst advice ever. Feedback is a very poor way to judge a PSU.

+1 for previous

Here is something for you to consider...PC Power and Cooling makes power supplies made just for Dell replacement. Here is a 500 watt power supply with 35 amps on the 12v rail...it will be plenty to run that system. It is $75 with free shipping and $55 after a mail in rebate:D

The graphics card you selected needs an 8 pin PCI power connector...the power supply has one.

Hm.. So some video cards are requiring a good power source hm... But I think have a little lower than 500w like 350w is enough right so that it'll be safe for the mother board.

No. The motherboard will "safely" get only the power it needs, regardless of the max wattage of the psu.
Hm.. Alright sorry then I just had a bad experience some bad power supplies. Because most of the time they have malfunctions and end up burning the board. So I'm not that kind a good with the power supplies.
