Need a New Psu

I have a Cooler master storm scout case. My budget is definately under $100.

I only have an 8600gts but Im upgrading to either a 6850 or gtx 460 soon.

What I am basically looking for is a power supply that is modular, long cables, 600w+, and is reliable/stable.

I know these are all things most people are looking for, but.. yea :)

thanks in advance

Hmm, it's 750watts and has 100amps total on the 4 12v rails. That's pretty damn good. Not to mention 90$, $100 with tax and shipping. If it was modular :(

But, thank you very much. This psu is my #1 unless I can find something the same that is modular.

+1

I have an Antec TruePower I got for $150, but the one above is definitely what I'd go with.

That power supply doesnt have 100 amps. Its only 25 amps max pull on any one rail. You dont just add up the rails. It really only has 56 amps total on the 12V rail. Kinda low for a 750W power supply.

Hey bomber quick question: Is the TX-650 modular? I can't find out for the life of me.

Oh and OP have a look at the Silverstone Strider Plus 600W, it's fully modular and i plan on buying one.

Oh really? Could you explain that to me a little more in depth, important to know.

And bomberboy, the Silverstone psu seems great.

and just in case, im not psu retarded, I just want to see everyone's opinions and if they match psu's ive been looking at.

Any recommended 750watt or higher ones, price doesnt matter, but quality does.

The 650tx is not modular. Their hx series are. 620hx, 750hx, etc.

Most multi rail power supplies are not a true multi rail. They have a single rail that all 4 in this case with the Antec, pulls off of. Each rail has a 25 amp limit, but that doesn't mean all 4 rails can pull 25 at the same time. The 12V rail only has a max of 56 amps. Its only a 750W power supply. A power supply to have 100 amps on the 12V rail would need to have 1200W on the 12V rail

Cool, thank you. How can you tell if it's not a true multi-rail?

A example would be the HX1000W. Each rail is independent. Has 80 amps with two 40 amp rails. And each rail can pull 40 amps. You could call it, two 500 watts power supplies in one unit.

As far as 750W units i'd go with this:
