I know for sure I want a semi-modular PSU. Probably one of the XFX 650w ones.

I would like a Lian-Li K58 or K58w but it is a little expensive.

I would like a Athlon quad, or intel i3. For the motherboard, I need at least 1 PCI-E x1 and x16. I was thinking about getting a cheapish ($60 or less) card then upgrading to the GTX 460 I want.

and newegg has a Phoenix pro by G skill for $114, which isn't bad and I was thinking about it...

I'm trying to get this parts list together rather soon because I want to get the parts ordered before all of neweggs deals are over...

usually i can pull together builds... but not lately i guess

EDIT: I've got this setup right here - http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=21529808 all it is missing is a HDD, dvd burner, and gfx card.

I'm curious about 650W PSU's ... they seem like overkill for one GPU, but possibly cutting it close to run two cards. Is 650W still pretty safe for a second card? Or is there something else to consider?

I need a little more power than a GTS 450, thats why I am getting a cheap card to use for now. I'm curious though, can a GT 220 run PhysX? I might end up going with an ATi card instead, just not sure which one. probably like a 4650 or 4550.

I'm really having trouble with the CPU + Mobo. I want a Athlon Quad or an i3. Normally AMD builds will be cheaper but every time I try I've gotten the Intel lower.

I think the motherboard is primarily the problem. I'm looking for something with two PCI-E x16 (one could run at x4, I don't care.) and at least 1 x1 slot. USB 3.0 and SATA 3 would be nice, but probably not necessary. (maybe USB 3 would be a necessity.) I'm happy to go with Micro ATX if the savings are worth it, and IT has what I need. (I don't want graphic cards crammed together.)

If you're firstly thinking about an GTX460, then deciding to go with a 4650 or 4550 it's a BIG difference. But if as you say you can't afford other cards well...
The GT220 can run PhysX and is alright, but IMO i'd go with a 8800GT or 9800GT, they run it better and are cheap
