Need a reliable voip speakerphone solution

I'm working on a project to find out the most cost effective and reliable way to connect a remote user with a group of individuals in a live meeting. At the moment I'm not too concerned about utilizing video. I just need a way for everyone to hear and understand each other. I'm thinking that Skype might be the best way, but that I believe requires the use of a computer. I would like to eliminate the use of an extra computer if I could since that might compromise the reliability I am seeking. Is there a good voip service besides Skype which I could use? Also, I would need to have a speakerphone that would be compatible with whatever service I use.

Since Skype can be used to make calls from computer to regular phone line (for a fee) as well as computer-to-computer calls, I believe Skype would, indeed, serve your purpose.

Why do you need a speakerphone? There are various ways of handling the audio part of a Skype or other voip services. I sometimes use headset connected to my computer. A separate mic, used along with regular computer speakers for listening, is also an option, although this approach sometimes results in some sound feedback due to sound from speakers being picked up in the mic. Another option is to connect a bluetooth adapter to a computer, install the bluetooth software for the adapter, and then use a bluetooth headset when talking via your computer.
