Need a software to backup my system.

I lost the XP recovery CD that came with the laptop. I need a software that can make backup CD/DVD of my system so when something gets missed up i can recover it by by poping in the backup CD/DVD.

basically i need a software that can make backup CD/DVD that has the same affect of the Xp recovery disk.

..........i have used drive image for imaging my computer in it's entirty so that if something takes a dump, i have a method to restore it.....
 
I too use Drive Image. Not available now as Norton bought out Powerquest. Use Norton Ghost for a total backup of your system. Second HD or CD/DVD.
 
theres alot of programs that can do this, i usually use nero, or even AVG has a back up option, i think the windows back up option only works once
 
norton ghost because you can save the image to a hdd or burn it to dvd or cd it is very easy to use and does a complete backup of windows and everything installed on it
 
I used Norton Ghost for a couple of years on my desktop but for some reason it just stoped working one day. I can backup image of my hardrive with no problem but when i try to use the image to restore the drive it just doe not work. It will not boot up when i turn on the computer. I do it the same way i have been doing it for a long time but it just does not work anymore ever since couple month ago.

I will try some of aplications metioned here.

Acronis True Image is what i use for any type of backup. very nice and easy program. you can try a demo from there web site. just look up Acronis

are you trying to boot it from the disk?
