Need Advice, AMD or Intel

I've always use AMD, there were fast and kicking the crap out of intel. Now I see that intel's core 2 duo is the shit. Anyone out there switch from AMD to intel because of this and is the performance way better? The reason I ask is because I'm thinking about upgrading to intel.

That would really depend what AMD CPU you're upgrading from.

It's an old ass AMD 3400+ 754 Socket w/ 2.5GB of PC3200, 2 80G WD raid 0 , Evga 7600GT 256 PCI-E.

Well, that and the budget. An X2 4800+ to an E6400, or even E6600 wouldn't really make that much of a difference.

It should be a significant upgrade, keep in mind that you'll also need to change over your board and preferably RAM as well.

lol i upgraded from that same proc, the 3400+, to an X2 3800+, and now im upgrading to core 2 duo... its all personal preference. tomshardware has some real good cpu charts...

Your Right, I'm going to sell my system on ebay and put togther a Cyrix P166 with 32MB of ram and a 4Gig HD!! and the brand new S3 VirgeDX video card w/ 4 MB of memory!!

Don't laugh. I used to have a system almost identical to that, except mine had the 133+ in it.
