Need advice buying gaming laptop

Hi I am not much of a computer wiz although I am getting there slowly. I would like some help on which gaming laptop I should buy. I am a hardcore gamer who plays a wide variety of games. I am trying to keep my budget under $ 2,200 (US).

Please advise me on whether or not these laptops are worth the money or if the money would be better invested on a desktop which could give me a more powerful desktop with the same price. Also are any of these laptop duel or quad core processors or does having such a powerful graphics card make the laptop not need them?

So far I have gone through many laptops and have been impressed by the following. I have also put down a summary of their specs for your convenience :

1-> Alienware 18

2-> SAGER NP8278-S : Starting at:$1454.03
17.3" FHD Matte
NVIDIA® GTX 970M [6GB]
Intel® i7-4710MQ
Up to 32GB RAM
120GB mSATA + 1TB HDD
2+ Hours / 8.60 lbs

3-> SAGER NP8672 : Starting at:$1551.03
17.3" FHD Matte
NVIDIA® GTX 980M [4GB]
Intel® i7-4720HQ
Up to 32GB RAM
1TB Hard Drive
2+ Hours / 6.83 lbs

4->MSI GT72 Dominator-214 : Starting at: $2149.00
17.3" FHD Matte
Intel® i7-4710HQ
NVIDIA® GTX 970M [6GB]
Up to 32GB RAM
2 x 128GB mSATA + 1TB HDD
2+ Hours / 8.40 lbs

Hope you guys can help me out :3

Number 3, a GTX 980M is great.

For hardcore gaming though, a desktop is much preferred. A desktop with similar specs to 3 would be around 1200 dollars

All of those laptops are quad core. any of them will be able to handle any game that you throw at thhem with ease. but if you are wanting to go straight up enthusiast (like i did )then get a desktop. it will be ablout 20-45% cheaper (depending on brands) but you lose the mobility of taking it everywhere with you.
