Need Advice on a new gaming PC!

Hi,

I would like to buy a new gaming PC for the games Battlefield 3 and Guild Wars 2, maybe even some Skyrim. I want to run these games smoothly at ultra setting and maybe make some video's using fraps and a video editting program on only 1 screen. I want the PC to be powerful but not too expensive.

1. Can I achieve this without using SLI and Crossfire?
2. Can I achieve this without overclocking?

This is the build I have in mind, If you see any flaws or have suggestions which improve the build with another part from another brand which has the same effect, then feel free to let me know.

Motherbord: ASRock P67 PRO3 (B3) (Retail, RAID, Gb-LAN, Sound, ATX) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=mainboard&artno=GRER13&cn=1

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-2500K (Boxed, FC-LGA4, "Sandy Bridge") https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=cpu&artno=HR5I05&cn=1 (don't want to overclock right away, but the K version is only 5-7 euro's more, so I will buy this and keep my options open for overclocking in the future).

CPU Cooler: Scythe Shuriken Rev. B (Retail) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=cpufan&artno=HXLY22&cn=1 (I might overclock in the future and this cooler is quite cheap and has extremely good feedback from people who have bought it and it seems to cool very good and without much sound)

Memory: G.Skill 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit (Light-Retail, F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL, RipjawsX) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=ram&artno=IDIFG7J4&cn=1

GPU: ASUS EAH6950 DCII/2DI4S/2GD5 (2048 mb memory)

Case: Aerocool Vx-e Battle Edition (Retail, Zwart/Geel) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=pccase&artno=TQXR53&cn=1 (Has enough space, decent cable management options, 2 fans and the easy installing of hard and optical drives)

Hard Drive: Samsung HD103SJ (Bulk, SpinPoint F3) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbui...ml?searchClass=harddiskSATA&artno=AEBU11&cn=1 (standard and good)

Optical Drive: Samsung SH-222AB (Bulk, Zwart) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=dvdr&artno=CEBU40&cn=1 (standard and good)

Power Supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro M 600W (Retail, 2x PCIe, Kabel-Management) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=powerSupply&artno=TN6M50&cn=1 (It is silent and has cable management, does my rig require more than 600W? I don't think so, this seems more than enough).

Program: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (OEM, NL, Incl. ServicePack 1) https://www.alternate.nl/html/pcbuilder/productDetail.html?searchClass=os&artno=YQBMMI&cn=1 (standard, fast and good, all a gamer needs.)

Screen: A 21.5 inch 1920x1080 FULL HD screen.

Anti-Virus: don't know, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to your advice. :)

for ultra in BF3 on a single card, I would say get a GTX570/GTX580 or HD6970. It may be worth your while to wait a week or so for teh HD7970 as its slated (from what we see, lets not hope for a Zambezi repeate) to be a 580 assassin. That will max it for sure.

As for OC, the 2500k can most likely handle any game at stock speeds with the right GPU.

PSU: CoolerMaster is not good. They do good cases and fans, but they make midgrade PSUs that are not the best. You need one from Antec, Corsair, Silverstone, Seasonic, PCPAC, NTXZ, or XFX. Don't deviate from this list if you want your build to last.

Can you suggest a good PSU that gives 600W and is silent? Though that PSU I linked has 8 times 5/5 stars, so could it really be bad?

Also, how much will HD7970 cost?

HD 7970 is supposed to be in the $500 range.

Reviews offer little if nothing tword a informed decision. 5 star reviews offer nothing. 1 and 2 star reviews tell everything.

As for one that is silent, I can not offer any options as I havent used but 2 build quality PSUs before and 1 failed. The other was just underpowered, and was an antec.
