Need Advice On New Mobo

I'm doing some upgrading to my computer here soon and I need some advice on what motherboard and ram to go with. I think as far as a cpu goes, I'm going to go with an Intel E6850 Core 2 Duo. As for the motheboard and ram I really am not sure. I'm trying to stay around $200 or less for a motherboard and I also wanted to add 2gigs of ram and stay around $100-120 or so for that. On the motherboard I do need to have a firewire port. One of the boards I've been looking at is the EVGA nForce 680i SE but I'm open to any suggestions. So if anyone could help me out in picking out a new mobo and some ram it would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should get a Gigabyte motherboard because they use solid state capacitors. I think you should decide what motherboard you are going to get and then build you system from that.

would the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R be a better choice than the EVGA nForce 680i SE as far as a motherboard goes to run a intel e6850. Both have a firewire port which I need for some of the music hardware I have. Both seem to be good at overclocking. The only main diffrence seems to be the EVGA board is sli. Would one of those two be my best option or is there another board that you might recomend to use with the e6850.

The solid caps on the Gigabyte board are very nice, but don't add much except alittle extra hardiness..

Both boards are very, very nice. Go with the one most suited to your needs, neither will disapoint.
