Need Advice on New Processor Purchase

I currently have a HP Pavilion P6000 series (p6510t model) with Intel Celeron E3300 @ 2.5GHz and 3.00 GB of RAM. Which is apparently not great to run any internet stream on so if I was to just purchase another processor, what would that be sufficient and compatible with my computer? or is that going to be overkill for my computer no matter what? I don't game on my computer at all just stream from console.

If info on streaming is needed: prefer to stream in 720p or 1080p @ 30fps and I know the internet connection is factored in but that's not an issue.

so I guess I have a H-I41-uATX (Eton) motherboard and can go with a max Core 2 Quad Q8xx0/Q9xx0 (Yorkfield core) (95W) processor. Is that a good choice or is it recommended that I upgrade the power supply as well? What's a preferred site for purchase as well?

I don't think your problem is processor based. The one you have is a pretty good processor for streaming. If you are not getting 30FPS @ 720p I would fault the GMA x4500. Try a cheap video card and see if that helps you. Something like a Gt210 or HD6450 (6350 maybe).

As for the question, the Q8000 and Q9000 are great processors. Expensive now a days, but good processors.

I agree with Wolfeking. A Celeron E3300 Dual-Core is still a decent processor for what you are doing. I would also place the fault with the video card for your problem with watching videos.

this might be a misunderstanding. I'm using xsplit to stream live video that's captured from a external capture card to twitch.tv. I was told both by people on the support forum on twitch and xsplit that my processor is many generations behind to provide any quality stream to a site.
