Get some very equal performance with an Intel chipset and an ATI GPU. I've worked on many 780i motherboards, and they're very temperamental with certain types of ram. Checkout this proven X48 DFI board and a 4870 that will deliver fantastic performance. I'd recommend this setup over an Nvidia setup, Crossfire performance scales much better than Nvidia's SLI. In most cases, crossfire delivers literally twice the performance, and rarely does SLI. Of course in games that favor Nvidia, that's an obvious win for them. Overall though, I think you'll be happier with this setup.

DFI Mobo $232: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136047

4870 $294: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161264

That 4870 is a very high quality HIS version, comes with an awesome HSF and is ready for some serious overclocking. It'll provide great performance right out of the box..

Everything else looks like great choices. GL with your build.
