Need Advice Software. Recording from Cassette Tapes

I need some advice for some free software. I want to record from cassette tapes and convert them to .mp3 format.

Can anyone give me some good advice and direction?

I would try audacity.

I actually did this quite a few years ago but don't remember exactly how I did it.

I've actually recorded from cassette tape to MP3 using Audacity (but I have a disk). It works great.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am in the process of moving now so things are crazy. When I get some time and buy a tape player I will let you know how it goes.
