Need advice

I just got a box from ThePlanet and am using it to host Gameservers and am looking into hosting a webserver. Unfortunately I know nothing about it. Before I move on to learning HTML or anything, i want to find a good webhosting program to use, and learn how to use it. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good tutorials or programs.

Also is there any way to host a Public FTP without hosting a webserver?
