Need an External Hard Drive

ive been looking for 1 for a while, but i havent been sure which 1 to get...

my laptop has Usb 2/eSata/Firewire 400 ports but im not which hard drive is worth my money...

any1 have any suggestions or personal experiences with hard drives? would prefer 1TB or above in storage

Whatever drive you choose, get an eSATA one as it will have the best performance.

I would look for a USB 2.0/eSATA drive. If you've got the ability to use eSATA, do it. You'll get much better transfer rates. Fantom Drives seem to be doing alright and offer plenty of eSATA models. I've always been a fan of Western Digital too, but they don't seem to have as many eSATA models available.

If it helps, eSATA and SATA use the same connection, just with a different notch at the end. you can buy specialled cables to use an external drive with a regular SATA port.

I would recommend jsut buying a regular SATA drive for cheap (1TB isn't too expensive) and then buying an external enclosure with eSATA.

Try looking at the 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black drives on newegg.
