Need an opinion on an upcoming budget build

Hello! Been a while since I have posted on this forum. Well I am currently trying to come up with a budget amd build. Something I can do some light to moderate gaming, and not have to worry about my system having issues. So this is the list I have compiled, I am trying to go as cheap as I can without sacrificing performance. Bare in mind I am no computer expert or components tech. So any advice or opinions would be great! Mainly on if anything is going to cause conflict with one another. I am trying to keep my budget Down within the $420 range. Here is what I have...

The only thing i would say ( I could be wrong) Is you 'might' be able to go down to a 4-core processor and get a slightly better GPU with the money you save. But its not going to be much. I personally think you do have a good build. Just dont expect BF3 on ultra details.
Good luck! You will probably get more helpful posts from other members.

Hi Jack and thanks for the reply! That is good news, I was going to go with the Phennom II x4 But figured the x6 would be better down the line If I decide to up the Video card or maybe crossfire with another one. Not to mention the reviews on the x6 are great, from what I read it is a beast of a processor for the money. :)

Well the phenom ii x4 is what i have now. I am looking to upgrade now and im am actually looking towards getting an X6 for myself. Simply because i think its better for futureproofing, And my wife uses some pretty cpu/ram heavy applications/programs. so 8 more gigs of ram and 2 more cores should do it!
Your welcome btw! and good luck again.

Sorry to say but that advise is a bit outdate. Get the FX 4300. Phenom II is 2 generations old already and recommending a X6 is pretty pointless.

I'd say you get probably get a 4300 and a 7770 or higher depending on how the budget plays out. But any Phenom is pointless to get now. They're a decent processor (I have one) but they're old and not worth buying with Vishera and Bulldozer out right now.

Just get the FX-6300. Not much more expensive than the FX-4300 and has two more cores.

Get 8GB of DDR3 1600MHz RAM via 2x4GB sticks for dual-channel performance.

I personally wouldn't get that power supply. Get a Corsair CX 500, will be more than enough for a 7750. Consider getting the 7770 if you can (if it means you get the FX-4300 rather than the FX-6300, do that).

I'd recommend getting an ATX board and a better case too.
