I have my computer components and I was reading that my AMD processor must have a thermal interface material... I looked at the heatsink and saw some kind of gray stuff. Is this what they are talking about, or do I need to wait longer so that I can get this material???

That grey bit is what you are looking for, its a thermal wax pad, they arent the most efficient though to really get good temps you want to buy some "Arctiv Silver 5" thermal paste and apply that to your HSF instead.

yes, there's usually thermal paste or a thermal pad between the heatsink and the cpu, it helps transfer the heat. And that kind of gray stuff is probably it.

edit: wow..i was beat my dragon by the seconds...

I have another problem... while installing my DVD-ROM drive, the site that I'm using to guide me, says that I need to put in an audio cable into the DVD-ROM. Problem is, I can't find an audio cable!! Can someone help me out?

okay newest problem... on my computer it says to put in a bootable disk. When I put in a floppy, it tells me that it is not bootable? Any Ideas??

you have to format it as a bootable disc. You go to my computers, insert the floppy, right click, select format, and select bootable disc.

and for your other question, you don't really need the audio cable, i never bothered to plug it in and my dvd rw works perfectly

ok bootable disk = the disk with windows on it, or a hard drive with windows installed. the bios has a set order of places to check for that, and you can set the order in the bios.
ex. 1. hard disk
2. cd-rom
3. floppy
this means it will check for windows on your hard disks if it is not there then it will continue to check for a window cd to install to your hard drive, and then your floppy to get an old windows version or something like that.
A: means its looking for a floppy, just check floppy off as last and cd as first, with the hard disk in the middle. thats what i do unless you already have windows on there and u want startup to be like 5 seconds or so faster, then check the hard disk first.

Its really not that hard .... sides there are instructions EVERYWHERE on how to do this very important step :)

You dont need that cable

1. Make it bootable
2. Make sure the BIOS is booting off the floppy

I put in the bootable disk and it says starting... and then A:/ or something like that? What do I do???
Well after it boots to the prompt, do whatever it was you were going to do with the bootdisk :)
