Need audio software

Hey guys,
I'm trying out the demo version of Amplitube II. Unfortunately it doesn't have a record feature on it like the 1st version. I'm looking for software that will record the audio output of my computer. So in other words I'd like to record exactly what is coming out of my speakers. I've tried audacity but and if works for everything else but as soon as I start Amplitube it says "Error while opening sound device. Please check the output device settings and the project sample rate."

Anybody know what I can use?
Thanks fellas.
Vic ;)

Hmmm... thanks for that but the same thing happened, it records everything else but as soon as I open Amplitube it comes up with an error.

I even tried starting a recording and then opening Amplitube but then Amplitube automatically muted itself and didn't produce any sound until I restarted it without the recording software open.

Do you think Amplitube has some sort of programming to prevent itself from being recorded?

Do you have your Sound and Audio Devices (in Control Panel) Recording Properties set with a checkmark in "Wave Out" or "Wave" or "Stereo Mix"?

I have this problem too with many programs, Nero WaveEditor 4 works fine for me now, maybe theres a trial somewhere?

It has a check in microphone, that's where my guitar's plugged in. If I check Wave or stereo mix I just get this high pitched screech coming out of my speakers :/

Bootup, I tried waveditor4 but same story. :(

If the guitar's in the mic input, check to see that the recording software is set for that as well, then. Otherwise, it's feedback from mic input to sound card, fed back to the soundcard.

Do you know, I reckon it was actually to do with programming. I went on the website and they've been working with digidesign, the designers of protools and the like, if you have protools you can use amplitube as a plugin/enhancement and vice-versa, unfortunately protools doesn't have a demo.

So I downloaded the demo of another IK Multimedia (Amplitube's designer) product, "Riff Master", it works fine, I can record my ditties to my hearts content (until the trial runs out that is).

It's a good thing I didn't go out and buy it, at $300 it ain't cheap but when you buy it without knowing you'll have to buy other software for over $200 I'd say it's a bit of a rip-off.

Anyway, thanks for you help guys, Ovenmaster :D Like everything else that goes wrong I'll count it as a learning experience :P
