Need better graphics card... Which one?

I'm running Windows XP on a Dell 2400 Dimension Desktop (yes, I know, it sucks) with a 2.2GB Intel Celeron Processor, 512MB RAM, and an Intel Extreme Integrated Graphics Card.
I'm planning to buy World of Warcraft, so I'm updating my RAM and Video Card. I ordered 512MB RAM, so I now have 1042MB or RAM. I need to buy a new graphics card though. Here are the system requirements for WoW:

Minimum:
# Intel Pentium® III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz
# 512 MB or more of RAM
# 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ 2 class card or above
# DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
# 6.0 GB available HD space
# 4x CD-ROM drive
# A 56k or better Internet connection

Recommended:
# Intel Pentium® IV 1.5 GHz or AMD XP 1500+ MHz
# 1024 MB RAM
# 64 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX 5700 class card or above
# Broadband Internet connection
# Two-button scroll-wheel mouse

My Question is: Which Graphics Card should I buy? There are a lot of good ones on the market, and I would like some opions on what would be best. I would like to spend under a hundred bucks if possible. It also needs to be PCI compatible.

They just told you it was. Anways that model of dell only comes with pci. You want pci-express but that is not an option. The link they gave you is the best pci card you are going to get. Just like The_Other_One said.
 
Can I just install the PCI card like I would if I didn't have an integrated card, or do I somehow need to get rid of the integrated one?
 
Just plug in the video card, connect the power cable if it needs one. The integrated is built into the motherboard so don't worry about it. Just remember to install the drivers too.
 
a 6600gt would be perfect for that game. i suggest that, or an x800 card. an x1600pro would do fine as well, or a 7600gs. do you need pci-e or the older AGP slot?
 
People,

What about his Psu?

He will most likely need a new Psu if hes going from Intergrated graphics to a Graphics card.

I had to but a new one as my 250w wouldnt cut it with the new card.
 
Hate to ask stupid questions, but what is a Psu? Power Supply?

I should have the card in tomorrow, so then I'll know for sure if it works or not

And just for clarification, yes, I am limited to a PCI card. No AFG or PCI-express.

PSU stands for Power Supply Unit, so you're right about that :)

the x1300 they linked should be fine with your current PSU.. its not requireing a lot of power.

however, when you instal the card, you have to disable the onboard grafic's in the BIOS i think... else it would be still runnning, consuming RAm, but just have no output connected to the monitor ;) if you jsut disable it, there shouldnt be a problem

also, i dont know if you can set that too, t least i can in my pc, set the first display device to PCI. ( i dont know if it would make a difference if you disabled the on board grafic's.. but better safe than sorry :o )


ow, and remember, there is no such thing as stupid questions. :D if there was, i would have to worry about everything i post i think :o
 
The x1300 does not draw enough power to warrant a new power supply. Also remember to turn off your integrated video card in the BIOS as the post above stated. When the computer is booting with Dell i believe the correct key is Del. Althouth it may be F1 it has been awile since i have worked with a Dell.
