I have a CM storm scout with the following specs;

i7 920
Asus P6T Deluxe V2

I'm wondering what CPU cooler I can put in without having any issues. I'm attaching some pics. so you can see how close my fans and gpu card is.

Fron the center of the processor to the GPU is 4.5"
to the rear fan is 4"
to the top fan is 3.5" I'm worried mostly about this one.

I'm looking at the following coolers;
Prolimatech megahalems $65.00 plus fans
Thermalright Venomous-X $70.00 plus fans
Noctua NH-D14 $90.00 including fans
Scythe Mugen-2 SCMG-2000 $40.00 including fans <~~~ Leaning towards this one.

There's a guy in the Sales section of this forum selling a TRUE for nice and cheap... the TRUE, VenomousX, and Megahalems are my personal favorites.

Well I decided on the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 it was 45.96 with tax and shipping. I know it wasn't any of my original choices, but I saw it had excellent reviews 354 with an average of 5 eggs on newegg and on a few other forums said it was a great cooler for the price/performance. I don't plan on O.C. but this should cool off the cpu way better than stock and if I do decide this cooler should work fine.....:cool:

I think Scythe Mugen-2 is better than COOLER MASTER Hyper 212...

It might be, I'm not sure, but Newegg is out of these right now :(.... The CM should be good enough I hope. I was going to keep stock like you suggested, but I keep reading posts where the stock cooler barely keeps the i7920 where it needs to be. I'm reading that these processors run hot. Anywho, I ordered last night and newegg should del. today (they have same day del. for locals) and I'll continue on my build. Thanks for the help...:good::good::good:

Thanks for the info. guys, but I already ordered... I guess I can refuse my order from newegg, it's not here and won't be del. until ???. That same day, is only for T.V. and monitors.
