Need (Desperate) Help Restoring Windows XP - HELP!!!

Hey,

Is there anyway of restoring Windows back to about a day or so ago? I don't have a "System Restore" option available for whatever reason, so is there a disk I can buy at a computer store or something to that effect?

Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated - I've lost a ton of files I needed by somehow overwriting them.

Using the system restore feature bring the system registry back to that point not restore any files lost by overwriting or deletion. For that a data recovery tool would probably be the only method of retrieval to consider there.
