Need For Speed Carbon

I have tryed the demo and I think it is much better than MW,

But this game needs a powerful GPU, if you want to play it on high setting.

I'm beginning to like the demo a little better, but I still doubt I'll actually purchase it. It's not nearly as good as Most Wanted, in my opinion.

Ok i've decided to give the demo a try. I'll grab it from a fast server so I should be playing it within minutes now. :D

The more you play the actual game of Carbon, the better it gets. The drift gets easier once you get into the game aswell, becuase you tune each part of the car, so you can set the right amount of under/oversteer and change the grip on the tyres from grip to drift. Annoyingly the biggest bug in the game is that it can and will randomly close and go to desktop. And the connection to EA nation is fragile and you're likely to lose that al the time too!

not really, i play it on high 1024 x 768 with a x700 pro and its smooth. (no aa though)

EDIT: More to say...
Ehh, they are both pretty good. I like the courses on Most Wanted more.

Theres just a few things i hate about NFS MW, one of which is when you stop your car just randomly slides sideways sometimes. Car collisions are unrealistic and your car wont flip over in MW.

i think its better than most wanted especially b/c the cop chases arent as frustrating but the one thing that bothers me about carbon is the motion blur....itd be nice if EA tweaked it down a little but it looks fine off.

I play it in 1024x768 on medium setting on my overclocked 6600 (not GT).

I was just saying that he needs a powerful GPU to play it on high setting, like 7600GT

I'm not sure if you're using Folding@Home, but I've found out that i have to pause, and sometimes close F@H in order to play some games... ie. Rise of Legends, NFS:MW, Age of Mythology etc. you might want to check what programs you have running in the background.

No i dont have F@H. If you look on the EA forums, alot of other people are having the same problem with the crashes. Hopefully a patch will fix it.

The actual game is ALOT better then the demo. Like someone said, the individual parts of the car and tuneable so you can design a car specifcally for drifting or for racing.

It doesn't really need a powerful GPU. My GeForce FX 5200 128MB runs Need For Speed: Carbon with Maximum Level of Detail, 800x600, no AA, full AF at average of 23FPS.
