Need Help - $800 Build

I don't see the point of changing what's not broken.
Edit: I am not necessarily stubborn, I actually do not know much about windows 8 besides what I have experienced on the mobile interface. If it is that much better then I will definitely take that option into account.

Correct its not broken, but Win8 runs noticably better. If you took a 3 year old machine, Win8 would run better than Win7. Its a lighter yet more powerful OS. I'm sure the experts here can better explain why that is. But overall its everyones opinion and in the end, its your new pc so get what you think you'll enjoy the most.
I've used both and I feel that 8 is basically a faster and smoother version of 7. A lot of the underlying fuctions (think Control Panel) is primarily the same. The mobile interface is there if you want but you can use it just like 7 in terms of the standard desktop. And if you really miss the start button you can find an app to get that back.
Just keep in mind if you have old software it might not work as well on 8 as 7.

Anyway for parts I don't have time to get you a list but I'd guess you'll be in the neighborhood of a FX 6300 and a Radeon 7770 or so for the CPU and GPU. Others here are better at builds than I but that gives you a place to start looking for yourself.

The budget needs to include a display monitor as well, and I am not sure if a full 1TB will be needed. Any way you could fit that in?

Besides windows, 7 or 8 will be fine. Both are good Os. I prefer 7 myself. What are you planing to do with the computer, gaming? Just saying for 800 including a monitor/ keyboard, mouse and OS. Could probably do a better AMD build.
Gaming will be included, but nothing absolutely hardcore. It's basically an all around computer for every day use. And yes, if you could include the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS in the $800 budget that would be great.

Sorry, I mis-read previously.
1TB is $75, 500GB is $60. For $15 difference, better off to 1TB
You could probably find some cheap monitor at $120 - 130.

Other stay the same. It end up around $690 for tower before MIR.
Option 2
CPU - i3 3220

This end up $700 for the tower.

FX-4300 is a later CPU
MB - won't fit. You need to have AM3+ socket. And don't get ECS

Both are good but I'd probably take option 2 myself, but not with that Micro ATX ASRock board (unless you need a micro ATX case?) I'd get a board like this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130653
Okay I went with daisy's build and with option two, but with the mobo you suggested, and with everything else that puts me at $885.89, which is still $86 over budget.. Could you try to get me down near $800?

Get a cheap MSI board like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130683 Get a cheap Micro ATX tower from NZXT, Rosewill, Cooler Master, Antec, or Bitfenix. If you are still over budget, get a i3 2100.
