need help adding hard drive to htpc with raid-0 setup?

i just bought the Sony xl2 htpc that comes with a 200 disc mega changer. here's a link to the unit:

it comes setup with two hard drives setup with raid 0. i don't know much about raid but know that raid 0 spreads the data over all drives and doesn't make a backup of any data. as stated, the unit comes with two drives at 160gb each but it has an additional bay for another drive. on a raid 0 setup, can i add another hard drive that is larger than 160gb?... or will the setup only recognize up to 160gb no matter what size drive i put in there? this is the drive that i wanted to add: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144424

Well, if you want to add a completely separate drive, you can set it as another raid setup (probably raid 1 will do fine) Or, if you want to set it up as a mirror drive, you can do that as well, don't remember the exact settings for that right now, though... Oh, and the 400 GB should be recognized just fine by the computer...

hell no! i bought an opened box unit for $1600 dollars :) i figured to build a htpc that was close in specs would cost about this, so i got the sony. it has a warranty, it's in a much nicer case than a self built, it comes with extra software which includes software to control a mega dvd changer through windows xp, and to top it off... it comes with a 200 disc mega dvd/cd changer w/ a dual layer dvd burner inside.

the sony htpc is preconfigured at raid 0, so how difficult is it to change the raid configuration to something else?

i just want to increase my hard drive space, so i don't care about mirroring or backup and anything like that. i just want to make sure that a 400 gb hard drive will be compatible with this raid 0 setup using two 160 gb hard drives. thanks again for your help.

I would think you might want to set up a different RAID like RAID 1 as mentioned earlier. If not the new 400 GB drive will work just fine.
 
i just called a local computer store and the tech told me that i had to get another 160gb hard drive to match the existing 160gb hard drives. otherwise, anything else would not be compatible. he said a different size might run but that i would have problems.

is he correct?
